"The sea provides a healing magic that goes beyond drugs and prescriptions. It forces us to become involved with it. The ocean draws on the strength of plants of the earth, the water that is a part of all life and the mineral salts from which our bodies are created."

freedomforwhales:

That awkward moment when Seaworld's CEO Stephen Schwarzman has a house that's more than twice the size of the largest Shamu Stadium (Seaworld San Antonio)

His apartment is 20,000 square feet, while the Orca tanks are dwarfed at 8,200 square feet in comparison. It really shows where the priorities are in this corporation.

I can see him house hunting: "I need a bigger house because I don't want to feel too cramped." Oh the irony…

Stupid Asshole.

marylily2:

Shout out for Kshamenk for the life he has to deal with.

He was forced to strand himself on a beach in Argentina. He now resides as a performer at Mundo Marino.

He's fed on a diet of dead fish despite his natural diet consisting of small mammals. He hasn't seen his own species in over a decade. He's aggressive and defiant. He hasn't bonded with his trainers. As a pubescent male, he's sexually frustrated on a consistent basis.

The middle photo shows his performing tank. The top and bottom photo show where he resides for the majority of the day.

This must be stopped.
